Episode 01: Chile
People are protesting against Neoliberal economic policies, wealth inequality, gender-based violence, and the most recent protests are demanding political accountability from President Sebastián Piñera regarding the police violence of firing rubber bullets at protestors eyes. This resulted in over 200 protestors reporting severe damage and blinding. The key demand of the protests was for the end of the constitution that is a remnant of the Pinochet regime, and to address demands made by Indigenous people and women’s organizations.
